They should, it's just the param heading that didn't.
It also sees the | as a link statement, so I replaced these with / instead to show there were various choices.
The amended text file is attached.

The other slight 'grunt' I have with the Dictionary as it is at the moment is that, often a list that "over there" looked like this:
-

Screenshot 2025-01-11 at 21.20.36.png (222.29 KiB) Viewed 3431 times

ended up "over here" like this:

- plain - checkerboard - venetian blinds -

which is not good at all as that sort of list is extremely difficult on the eyes.

I wonder if, when, the Dictionary files were ported to TEXT files some of the formatting got mucked up/

Thank you very much:I will use that as a model when I edit/muck about with any of the other Dictionary text files. 8-)

I just spotted, on those params list, I left in a couple of | by accident. You can see how that affects the dictionary when it tries to turn those into links, so please replace with / instead.

That's how my stack is formatting the text, corrected in the one I'm making available via the updates now...

Fra, far better. We must work to make that sort of formatting universal. 8-)

HOWEVER, not showing up 'over here':

I'm currently getting a few things wrong, but hopefully getting a few things right too. Still learning.

And if that isn't a complete waste of time, embedded into an OS :D
It's an updated (refined message by Apple, who are trying to make this look more and more scary on every OS release), version of this message.

The funniest thing in MacOS 14 is that I didn't tick the checkbox to allow the permission, yet it allowed it anyway after displaying the message. Very pointless, and quite misleading for users too.

But, as I covered previously on here - The iOS-ification of MacOS is almost complete.
In macOS Sequoia, users will no longer be able to Control-click to override Gatekeeper when opening software that isn’t signed correctly...
We know this of course, as we've already covered it, but I don't like the way it's headed. You know my feelings on MacOS. When I can, I'll have a machine that will be running Sonoma - but I won't allow the OS to update past that. Sadly. I used to love Macs, but "new-Apple" (now known as the iPhone company), have ruined the OS as far as I'm concerned.

The update just allows the dictionary to recognise 'params'
You'll need to swap out the "visual effect command.txt" file as well.

To check this is working, I just kept clicking the "load random" button,
load-random-btn.png
load-random-btn.png (1.6 KiB) Viewed 3416 times
until I came to a dictionary entry that used the param text: (not all do)
param-load.png
param-load.png (43.02 KiB) Viewed 3416 times
Another way to verify you've got the updated dictionary: if you click any entry, you should see the cursor change to a busy cursor briefly while it loads now Image. If that doesn't happen, then I assume the update didn't install the updated oxt_dictionary stack properly. So I'll attach that here, just in case - so you can swap it out manually.

Not sure if I'll ever be happy with the tools. I just can't seem to stop tweaking them
I've now added a few more options, and made the section headings optional / toggleable:

Yes, you can be as mad as you want with it.
Not sure why anyone would want it looking as wide as that, but it's down to personal preference I guess.

But this is what I mean when I say I'll probably never be happy with it. I'll have to modify those "paint tools" to be inline properly too at some point. Small steps though, because that tools stack is fairly delicate.

My future plans are to continue with a completely alternative IDE - (this is using no ".rev" and no ".livecode"/".livecodescript") files. I plan to have absolutely no association with LCC in the IDE.

I've been working on it in the background, but the gist of it is that it's a fresh recreation - (no patches-upon-patches) in the IDE. This won't be to everyone's liking - there's not going to be any support for loading builder syntax, or LCE extensions, but that's intentional. This is purely going to be a recreation on my own whims.

As such, I plan to step back from OXT Lite development slightly - I won't be able to give it as much time as I did, but it's pretty much as far as I can take it now anyway - without running up against legacy issues.
Anyone can pick up my progress from OXT Lite and carry on with it, simply by downloading the most recent version (1.10 as I write this), and applying any updates.

This doesn't mean I'm completely abandoning it. I want to focus my attention on compiling the engine and fixes there, as well as reimagining the IDE completely. I'll still update what I can on here with fixes if asked.

Speaking of which, there may be some more added later this evening, but the pace of my updates in OXT Lite will be reduced.

Will you make that freely available?

Oh, and while I'm 'here':

Until recently when the check update stack found no updates it "sat there" and told you so.

But now it vanishes in the blink of an eye, which is a bit odd as it does not give time for anyone to realise it has checked and foun there are no updates.

But, of course. Free as in no money involved, no registration, no user telemetry, no subscriptions, no need for internet access, and the source code of the IDE available.

Please see the release notes page,
v1.09:
Tweaked the automatic updates. These can run in the background without disturbing the user if no updates are available.

So, I assume you will be sending it out by post on ZIP disks. 8-)

The ONLY slight snag I can see there is that my Iomega ZIP drive has a SCSI interface and I do NOT have a SCSI-USB converter

Many long years ago (1999) I worked at a University in the UAE, and I was issued with an Iomega JAZ drive that took disks with the unimaginable size of a Gigabyte . . . 8-)

Now I can pick up second-hand SATA 3 TB hard drives for 10 Euros!

Of course it is: the work you have already done on the 'outer' bit is fantastic: now turning you attention to the "inner' part is amazing.
