Before xTalk there was SmallTalk, which eventually lead to SmallTalk + C = Objective C...

I've recently become very interested in GNUStep, which is an FOSS reimplementation of NeXTStep/OpenStep/Apple Cocoa frameworks (same thing that OS X / modern macOS and iOS is built from)
