answer dialog bug

Post by neville »

This may be old news to many, but I just came across a bug with in answer dialog

If I call for an answer dialog from the script of a button where the button is offscreen (it is a behaviour script, and having all my behaviour buttons invisible but in the centre of the screen of the screen, where they are created by default, appears to cause glitches with drag and drop to and from objects at the centre of the screen - presumably caused by the system hunting for the first visible object at that location) - back to to my main sentence - then (!) the revidelibrary throws a silent bug. By silent I mean the script continues as if nothing has happened, but if you have an errordialog handler it will report an error. Wouldn't bother me but I fear it will really bite in a standalone.

I guess the engine has some problem trying to position the dialog, if the calling object is offscreen, but then it recovers to place the dialog on screen. This is on Mac Sequoia, OxTLite.

Oh, and somewhere in the forum there was a question about why our language has both command and functions, and someone said commands couldn't be used to return results . Unless I missed it, and I was skim reading, no-one seemed to correct that misapprehension at the time. They can of course, you just have to ask for it (in it and the result).
