Warning: Problem with Dual Booting Win/Linux with GRUB

I thought I'd post this here since some of you may be secure- dual booting Windows and Linux (personally I use OpenCore Bootloader for triple booting), there is a potential Issue with Dual Booting Win/Linux when using Linux/GRUB boot loader that a recent Windows update was meant to patch a security flaw with, it may actually wreck your setup instead (ah good 'ol Microsoft, hah!):

Yes, I absolutely keep my Windows machine sandboxed - away from anything else. It doesn't even touch the network.
I wouldn't trust it to handle any linux-related update.

Why are Microsoft meddling with Linux?
Perhaps their justification is because someone might have WSL installed. Doesn't mean they should interfere with anyone's Linux install. Certainly attempting to correct permissions from within Windows won't be a good idea as it won't know what users and groups to use. Setuid will be incorrect. Best to correct that in the Linux side.

Microsoft should spend their time fixing Windows and addressing the bugs there, of which there are many.

Alternatively, what Microsoft could do is work on their own Linux distro - and improve Wine compatibility to support legacy .exe programs. (Perhaps they could make a Microsoft fork of ZorinOS, or something like Ubuntu GamePack as they have Wine included).

Actually, no - forget that. Best to keep them busy in Windows, not that they seem to know what they are doing there either.

Frankly, I keep loads of 'manky-franky' computers piled up in a way which my wife comments on, negatively, running all sorts of systems; as these old machines cost me about 10 Euros a pop, this proves a lot easier than mucking around with dual-boot anything.

I actually just moved my 'office'/music room back down to my old basement man-cave room, after my son has finished using that room for a few years. Then purchased a KVM switch box. ICYDK, a KVM switch can toggle between multiple computers enabling you to use a single set keyboard, mouse and monitor (also a MIDI keyboard controller) to control them. Currently I have my iMac (using as secondary screen), my yuge 'GigaHac' server, and my trusty ol' MDD G4 PowerMac attached to it, with an empty slot for another. My wife comments about it much less when there's fewer screens everywhere
