Okay, but just making everyone who might wonder why, aware.

Haha, not right now (obviously), but yes - in future.

Having repeatedly raised the issue of the site where OXT Lite pulls it's updates from with my hosting provider:

I'm now going to look at changing domain hosts.
I may migrate everything in any case, but it's made me think about website hosting in general.

I may purchase a dedicated domain, website space, (and from my point of view, it needs to support PHP and MySQL).
Other than that, needs about 3GB of space (although 5GB would be handy). Those aren't earth shattering requirements, so I'm going to be shopping around to see what's out there.

So this got me wondering, why not register a domain that I can move the OXT Forum to ultimately? I say that as I'd rather have a server that isn't located on the server this forum currently sits on.

I'd like something completely non-affiliated with any previous ties. If I go with a domain & host for this server, I'll need a lot more space [checks how much space this forum currently takes]... about 1.4GB. Obviously I think I'd need a huge safety net, so would want something with about 25~30GB of storage I think.

Just an idea, but the fact I'm looking at providers and hosting made me wonder if I should migrate the forum too?

I can move the OXT Forum to ultimately?
Well: both 'Yes' and 'No'.

Surely the clever thing to do is to have the forum and the other stuff stored at 2 places that synchronise, so that when one goes arsy-versy you have the other one to fall back on.

Also; have you got a tatty, brown sofa?

It might be time to start a very modest fundraiser . . .

Probably time for me to drag out the tatty, brown sofa as well. 8-)

Thanks for letting me know Richmond. If anyone is trying to update things, pleased to say my site is now back online so the OXT Lite updates are working again.

As such, I've just added these options as an update:
