Here is (a potentially biased) comparison between the Electron and Microsoft's WebView version for webapp-to-desktop app engines:

Other than package size (Electron bundles basically the whole Chromium with its app standalones, which is rather large), I think I might prefer Electron system for ease of 'native' things like updating Dock icon on macOS, but I'm certainly interested in alternatives to Electron.
