I actually did the permissions thing but it didn't help. I granted full permissions to the installer. I'm glad you checked in with the Chromebook forum though, that was a good idea.

Last week I talked to the LC team about LC on Chromebooks, and they weren't too interested in providing any other installers. Right now they're focused on the web version ("LiveCode Create") and they assured me that when it's finished I'd be able to run LC in any browser just as we do now on the desktop. I have some thoughts about that, but we'll see how it goes. They do seem to be making steady progress but there's still much to do yet.
